Follow these tips to get the most out of your BlackBerry addiction:

• Navigate quickly around calendar views by pressing D for Day, W for Week, M for Month, and A for Agenda. For this to work, you'll need to set Enable Quick Entry field to No under Calendar Options.

• Deleting older messages is easy; simply click a date field and choose Delete Prior.

• Find any contact in your address book by typing out the contact's name or initials, separated by a space.

• When browsing the Web, make quick work of visiting favorite sites by pressing K to open your bookmarks. To add a new bookmark at any time, press A.

• Press and hold any letter in order to capitalize it. Often it's faster to do this than to set a mode or press another key first. To turn on CAP-Lock, press Alt + Right Shift (CAP).

• To move down a page while reading a message, press the Spacebar. This works on other screens, too. Moving back up a page is just as easy; press Shift plus the Spacebar at any time.

• Dial a phone number with letters (such as 1-800-WIN-CASH) by pressing Alt and typing each letter with the QWERTY keyboard.

• Use the Symbol (Sym) and Currency ($) keys to enter special characters not visible on the keyboard.

• To activate the backlighting at any time, press (but don't hold) the Power button.

• The Space key lets you enter in an @ symbol when typing an E-mail message. Press the Space bar twice to insert a period. The next letter will automatically be capitalized.

• Selecting special characters is simple; press and hold the letter key in question. Then adjust the thumb wheel up and down to move through the available choices.

• The Escape button is useful for exiting any screen, or to stop any Web page from loading.

I have a Pearl Blackberry from T-Mobile. The track ball started malfunctioning recently. Any tips.....?I have the insurance - which I guess guarantees replacement (for around $100). But, I do not want them to say that it is cosmetic (and then not replace it) - I really need a new blackberry because the track ball gets stuck when I need to move the cursor left. ANY TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE A SUCCESSFUL INSURANCE CLAIM? Thanks everyone for the help!

Free Color Pearl trackball color program for blackberry pearl 8100
New free download of a color pearl app for blackberry pearl 8100. All you need to do is download this program and unzip it to your computer. You then just use Blackberry Desktop manager to add it to your blackberry device. After it is installed go to your options and under ColorPearl. This app will allow you to pick from 7 different colors, random or custom. It also allows you to create your own color by putting in a custom Color HTML code. Pretty sweet, especially for a free app. As I said this should work with Blackberry Pearls and Curves.

How To unzip a file!:

First, you need to download and install either WinZip or WinRAR archive software. Once installed, the archive software should now be part of your Windows or Macintosh system. You open you a Zip file by double-clicking it.Commonly, one of two prompts will then appear:

1. Unzip or install from an existing Zip file in the WinZip Wizard. This Wizard will then walk you through the steps to unzip-extract the files.
2.Extract files to the WinRAR Wizard. Just like WinZip software, you will be prompted for the next steps. Give it several moments to do its job, and your files are now decompressed as separate complete files. You now use those files like you would any other files. If you want, you may also delete the Zip original file to now save space.

If the blackberry is like most cameras, you'd need to install the
proprietary "blackberry software drivers" on your Windows Box so that
Windows knows how to deal with the device. That may be why Windows
isn't recognizing the blackberry...?

Does the blackberry put its photos on a memory card? If so, you can
always just plug the memory card into a normal USB memory card reader
on the PC... those are always easily recognized and Picasa can import
photos that way.

You could buy a broken laptop off ebay and switch the two screens, if you have any idea about fixing computers, other wise I would bring it to a local computer repair shop where they will be able to fix it. for the screen alone, depending on what kind it is your looking around 200 bucks, plus whatever they charge you to fix it.

They wont just fix the screen. if youve got insurance they'll just get you a new one. Someone might be able to fix it but not an authorized center.
